OBJECTIVES

To promote research, knowledge, protection, conservation, restoration, valuation, management, and sustainable use of natural resources and the environment, as well as their planning and evaluation.

 

To contribute to improving the quality of life of the population and the comprehensive development of the country, as well as the nations where it operates or receives support.

 

To develop community projects for the production, processing, industrialization, and marketing of goods within the areas of natural, biological, social, and environmental sciences, as well as in the forestry, agroforestry, and silvopastoral sectors.

 

To carry out research, protection, and conservation projects for the environment, with an emphasis on flora, fauna, and society; the validation, promotion, and transfer of results through scientific publications and training programs. This includes basic and specialized courses, seminars, conferences, workshops, and congresses (both in-person and virtual), forums, and scientific support for higher education academic activities.

 

To conduct assessments for the management and conservation of protected areas in the different existing categories.

 

Publish the results of completed projects and research, either through specialized journals or publication series (books), in print or electronic format.

 

Provide guidance to all members who require it in the areas of biology, forestry, ecology, herpetology, ornithology, mammalogy, entomology, ichthyology, cartography, and social sciences, both for the formulation of specific studies or research projects and for access to libraries, collections, and scientific materials in general.
